Travis Miles
History:
Travis is the son of Helen and Body Miles. His parents worked manual labor jobs. His mother was a home attendant and his father worked in the garment district. Jobs, for blacks during that time were very scarce (decent jobs anyway), so Travis grew up in very impoverished surroundings. His parents were hard working, upstanding people, well known and liked in the neiborhood. He also had one sister and one brother, sister, Abigail and younger brother, just ion. Since his parents worked so much to make ends meet, getting paid a quarter of their counter parts pay, at best, parental supervision was scarce. His parents had to work very long hours for very little pay, far less than their white counter parts, leaving Travis, much of the time to supervise his siblings. Travis was raised in the same home his entire life, and knew nothing of the outside world, except what he learned from the streets. He resented, what he viewed as, a burden placed upon his shoulder and felt sheltered from any of the experiences some other kids whose parents were more fortune(and present) had. His solution, in order to compensate and fill that void was the bottle and, as a result, an array of poor choices followed, choices that eventually led to his family eventually denying his existence and casting him out. Alone and feeling very betrayed, he latched onto the affections of a much longer lady, Sonia Ortiz, impregnating her soon after. Having kept his own pent –up anger towards his parents, he unleashed his rage upon his new born son, Tyreke Miles, planting a seed of abandonment and distrust of his that will inevitably tear his own family apart.
Personality:

Travis is a bully, belligerent and self-absorbing. In various bouts of rage, he will beat Tyreke mercilessly, punishing him for the life that was made for him. He is a stagnant character, whose own hatred for himself spills over, unfalteringly, onto his son.
